Balance and Fulfillment are at the Heart of Creative Wellness
|
Co-active coaching teaches that the issue of balance exists on two levels: the underlying quality of life and the day-to-day experience.
Most people want the ability to juggle the precious priorities in their lives so that the mix and movement, the ebb and flow are satisfying and fulfilling. They want less struggle, less stress, more ease and peace. People want to feel good about themselves and their lives and less at the mercy of circumstances and other people's expectations and demands. They don't necessarily want all the pieces of their lives to have the same weight or even to stay the same over time.
We are constantly balancing. Balance is not about slowing down, although that may be the perfect speed some days. | These reflections and quotes regarding balance and fulfillment are informed from the work and writings within Co-Active Coaching, 2nd Edition.
|
Balance is not about simplifying, although getting clear about saying yes to some things and no to others can be helpful to support your well-being.
What most people want is not necessarily to go faster or slower or to have less or more, but to have a smoother ride and support towards a fulfilling life vision.
Often in life we are making choices based on what others want, what would be easiest, what would cause the lease discomfort. We tolerate. We settle.
|
| The path to fulfillment often requires radical action. It is not easy to live our lives based on our core values, guided by our highest truth for our lives. That is what fulfillment calls forth in us - radical, honest, heart centered action. Without this a person lives with a sense of selling out on oneself - and the result is a life of toleration or betrayal rather than fulfillment. Fulfillment is about living life well |
Fulfillment is about being fully alive and this means having the power to make choices that support your total vision for your life. |
| with our core values represented in all that we do and in who and how we are.
Living well and living fully are about both being and doing - this is balance. |
Balance is not about evening everything out and it should not be confused with reaching some ultimate equilibrium. There is no static point in life; life is inherently dynamic.
